We all live such busy lives these days. Yet, on the busiest of days and despite my hectic schedule, one of my cats will come to sit by my side. I often comment “this isn’t a good time” or “move along, I have too much to do.” They will not be deterred and I sigh in defeat and stop for a moment to give them a cuddle or a pat on the head. It is in those moments that my cats remind me that sometimes you just need to stop for a minute! Thanks to a book by Suzy Becker entitled “All I need to Know I learned from my cat”, I am reminded of a few other things my cats have taught me:
Its o.k. to wear the same thing every day
Don’t forget to wash behind your ears and in between your toes
Eat only when you’re hungry
Be hard to leave and always be good to come home to
Shred all documents
When life gets you down always land on your feet
Sometimes you just can’t explain your actions
Exercise daily and see a doctor once a year
There is always time for a good nap
Ignore the t.v.
Yawn like you mean it and sneeze with everything you’ve got
Just because you’re home you don’t have to answer the phone
Enjoy your own company
And the most important-Love is a four “legged“ word!
So when your cat or dog comes up to you today, remember to take a moment for them, or should I say for yourself.
