$500
Donation
from
Linda

of
RBC
Life
Insurance
A
$500
cheque
was
received
from
Linda
Dryer
of
RBC
Life
Insurance.
The
cheque
resulted
from
Linda
applying
for
the
RBC
employee-volunteer
grant
for
hours
worked
preparing
for
the
first
Stomp
Your
Paws
for
LAWS
event
in
Carleton
Place.
The
event
featured
Arlene
Quinn
and
raised
over
$5000.
Linda
has
requested
the
$500
be
used
to
assist
in
spaying/neutering
programs
for
cats.
Linda
lives
and
works
in
the
Mississippi
Mills
and
Carleton
Place
area
which
LAWS
now
serves
in
the
capacity
of
both
pound
and
shelter.
Linda
has
2
dogs
and
4
cats.
She
worked
in
Ottawa
Humane
Society
for
many
years
and
has
fostered
about
150
mainly
cats
and
their
kittens
over
the
years.
She
would
like
to
live
to
see
the
day
when
it
will
be
considered
a
privilege
to
own
a
cat.
With
every
cat
spayed
-
it
would
be
nice
to
have
the
experience
of
having
difficulty
finding
enough
cats
to
adopt
in
the
future!
Just
like
her
experience
adopting
a
puppy
a
couple
of
years
ago!
Linda
encourages
other
RBC
employees
to
consider
how
they
can
join
herself
and
Diane
Thomas
(RBC
Financial
Planner
from
Carleton
Place
obtained
$500
as
well)
to
consider
how
they
can
volunteer
the
required
40
hours
in
2012!
It
is
a
pleasurable
way
to
raise
needed
funds
for
LAWS.
Ellie
May
-
Horse
Extraordinaire
We
recently
received
an
email
from
Ethel,
who
is
fostering
Ellie
May,
this
is
what
she
had
to
say:
Ellie
May
is
such
a
smart
horse.
She
is
used
to
me
bringing
her
treats
at
night
before
she
comes
into
the
barnyard.
Some
nights
I
forget
but
she
still
follows
and
keeps
looking
at
my
hands
or
my
pockets
wondering
where
the
goodies
are.
I
have
an
elderly
sheep
that
only
goes
out
later
on
in
the
evening
to
graze
a
bit.
The
poor
old
thing
is
on
her
last
legs
but
she
can
still
get
up
(sometimes
with
help)
and
wanders
out
of
the
barn.
Ellie
seems
to
hang
around
her
in
the
evening.
Shivers
sleeps
in
chicken
coop
and
that
is
where
Ellie
spends
the
night.
Im
wondering
if
she
was
with
sheep
at
one
time.
She
only
does
this
with
Shivers
(the
sheep)
but
not
the
goats.
We
had
a
couple
of
ladies
here
yesterday
who
were
adopting
a
foster
dog.
I
took
them
for
a
tour
and
Ellie
did
her
magnificent
gallop
to
the
barn
while
we
were
walking
in
the
pasture.
I
now
understand
a
persons
passion
for
horses.
I
smile
every
time
I
see
her.
Thank
you
so
much
for
letting
me
foster
her.
