Protecting Your Pet

Many illnesses affecting cats or dogs can be avoided if the pet receives its shots at your veterinary clinic according to schedule. Be alert for signs of illness: depressed appetite, lethargy or a sudden puffed up look to the coat. Don't wait until the ailment progresses - consult your veterinarian promptly. To protect your animal from injury or sudden death, keep it safe on your own property or on a leash at all times. Municipal by-laws prohibiting animals from running at large are designed to protect pet owners, their pets and the community. In the event that your animal should inadvertently escape your custody, even if for a short period, make certain that it is always wearing identification - license, rabies tag, and/or a metal disc bearing your name, address and telephone number.
